Meet Dr. Rayburn
Rodney K. Rayburn, D.D.S.
If I have learned anything in my 33 years practicing in the dental field, it is that dentistry is the best profession I could hope to be in. From being able to help people every day, each with a unique challenge, to being part of a fantastic team that I can count on, there is nothing mundane about it. A job well done is worth all the time and money in the world to me, and with me it's a fact that it will be a job well done.
Education and Experience
I studied at Texas Tech University before receiving my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental School, San Antonio. I believe strongly in continuing education because over time some really great new skills and technologies are being developed. I have gotten directly involved with this by taking part in fellowships and becoming an active member in many professional organizations.
- Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry
- Pankey Institute Alumni

- Greater Houston Dental Society
- American Academy of Operative Dentistry
- Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry
- Fellow of the International College of Dentists
In the Office
I really get excited when I see dental improvements in my patients' lives. That's the goal here, and it's a wonderful thing to see. My team is awesome, hands down. They make the goal an expected reality. With them, I am confident that I can make you as attractive, healthy, and comfortable as possible throughout and after treatment.
A big draw of this job for me is getting to know people. I love talking and especially enjoy learning about your backgrounds and professional lives. I love learning and teaching, and I don't mean just about dentistry. You'll find me ready in my listening and respectful in my responses.
Outside the office
I have happily lived in Texas my whole life. My wife and two grown children have carved out a great life here. I love the environment of Texas; the great golf courses, good music, and wine of our region. I do enjoy snow quite a bit too, especially when there's enough to ski on. I strongly believe in giving back and am involved with the Sugar Land Baptist Church as a Deacon. I also go to Guatemala as a dental volunteer for Faith in Practice whenever I can. Find more information about me on my Google+ page.
